Triune God [Trinity]
We believe in one true and living God who eternally and co-equally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Ruler of the universe. He is a personal and intelligent Being Who is all-powerful, all-knowing and all-present. To Him we owe the highest love and obedience.
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, a personal spirit, who reigns supreme over His universe. In His providential care, He concerns himself with each and every person, He hears and answers prayer, and He works out His plans and purposes with perfect holiness, grace, mercy, wisdom, and, most importantly, love. To all who are in Christ, He is their Heavenly Father since He has adopted them into His eternal family.
God the Son
We believe in Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, who has always and will always exist. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, He took on both human nature and flesh when He came to earth and has since been fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, perfectly revealing and obeying the will of God. He willingly died in the place of sinners to pay for their sins. After His sacrifice on the cross, He rose bodily from the grave and ascended into heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God the Father, interceding as our High Priest and Mediator. One day He will return to earth to judge and reign over all creation.
God the Holy Spirit
We believe in the Spirit of God, who is fully divine. He restrains evil and convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He exalts Christ by making the world aware of their need for a Savior and calling people to salvation. The Holy Spirit indwells, baptizes, and unites each believer into the Body of Christ. He continually comforts, empowers, guides, sanctifies, and gifts believers for the encouragement and ministry of the church. He illuminates biblical truth, enabling believers to understand and apply God’s Word. He fills the humble and yielded believer, empowering him for ministry and service. His indwelling of each believer is the guarantee that the church’s future and final redemption is sealed.
Bible
We believe in the entire Bible, both Old and New Testaments, as the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, and enduring forever. The Bible is God’s special revelation about Himself to man, highlighted in the person and work of Jesus Christ. God gave us the Bible by using different men throughout history to write His Word. Because God is the source of the Bible, it is totally true and trustworthy. The Bible is a treasure of divine wisdom and instruction that is useful to humanity for the purposes of discovering salvation in Jesus Christ, learning how to live as God intended, and discovering who God is. Therefore, we must respond to it with belief and obedience, as it is the supreme and final authority in faith and life.
Humanity
We believe that humanity - both male and female - is created in the image of God as the pinnacle of His creation, and therefore, each human life has value and dignity. Every human of every race and capacity possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love. Because of Adam’s sin, each person is born with a sin nature and cannot be made right with God on his own.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is God’s gracious plan to deal with our sin and that it is found only in the completed work of Jesus Christ, which both satisfied the justice of God and exemplified the love of God. Because it cannot be earned or deserved, salvation is offered by God as a gift that is received by faith alone in Jesus Christ, when a sinner repents of their sin and trusts in Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Church
We believe the church is the body and bride of Jesus Christ. He is the Head of the church, including both the historical-universal and local church. Constructed of believers from every tribe, language, people group, and nation, the historical-universal church includes all Christ-followers from all ages. Constructed of baptized believers, a local church is a specific Christ-centered and covenanted community that regularly meets together for worship of God, for nurture in the Word of God, for prayer, for fellowship, ministry and administration of certain ordinances – water baptism and communion. A local church is to function in love and unity as they pray for, encourage, serve, and edify one another. Finally, the church is God’s primary means of sharing the good news of the Gospel with a lost world.
The Ordinances
We believe that Jesus Christ has given two ordinances to the local church: communion and baptism. Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Communion, the Lord’s Supper, is a symbolic act whereby the church regularly memorializes the death of Christ, our Redeemer, and anticipates His second coming.
End Times
We believe that in God’s own perfect timing, Jesus will personally and visibly return to earth in glory to righteously judge humanity and establish His kingdom. The unrighteous, those who are not in Christ, will be consigned to eternal punishment. The righteous, those who are in Christ, will receive their resurrected and glorified bodies, will be given their reward and will remain with God forever. The church is to view the return of Jesus with prayerful hope and anticipation.
The Family
We believe that God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment before God for a lifetime that uniquely reveals the union between Christ and His church. The husband and wife are of equal worth before God, since both are created in God's image. Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord.
